A long pilgrimage road, best travelled together
Srisailam's Mallikarjuna Temple sits in the Nallamala Hills on the banks of the Krishna River, roughly 210–215 km south of Hyderabad. It holds a rare dual status — one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, and also a Shakti Peetha of the goddess Bhramaramba — which is a large part of why it draws pilgrimage groups from well beyond Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Because the drive runs 5–6 hours through Nallamala forest roads rather than a straight highway, and because Srisailam trips are so often multi-generation family or community outings, a Tempo Traveller (9–26 seats) is a practical choice over splitting into several cars.
