A dense residential hub, convenient for gathering a group
Kukatpally is a well-established residential and commercial locality in the north-west, known for dense housing, a large retail and small-business presence, and easy access to the Mumbai Highway (NH65). That density is genuinely useful for a pilgrimage trip: because so many housing colonies sit close together here, it's a practical single meeting point when several family members or neighbours from nearby streets are travelling together, rather than everyone converging from scattered parts of the city.
The route itself joins the Outer Ring Road before heading south toward Kurnool district and Ahobilam, roughly 350–360 km away — about 5–6 hours by road once past the city-to-highway transition. Ahobilam's nine Narasimha temples are split between Lower Ahobilam near the town and Upper Ahobilam, reached by a forest trekking path, so an overnight stay can be practical when visiting Upper Ahobilam, rather than a same-day return.
